About the position

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time First Engineer to join our transhipment operation in Western Australia. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the First Engineer is responsible for ensuring the Engine Room operations are conducted as per the requirements of the Technical procedures contained in the AVMS

In addition, the First Engineer will be responsible for:

The implementation of safe working practices within the Engine Department as a member of the Shipboard Management Team;

Deputising the Chief Engineer in the event of their absence, accident or illness;

Any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Company.

About you

Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 2 (required)

AMSA Engineer (Class 2) CoC/CoR Unlimited

Minimum 12 months sea time as an Engine Watchkeeper(required)

Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable)

Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)

Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)

Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)

Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights

Living in Australia

Be comfortable wearing a respirator
