About the position

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Engine Watchkeeper to join our transhipment operations in Western Australia. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Engine Watchkeeper is responsible for maintaining the operational capabilities of the ships engine and mechanical equipment.

In addition, the Engine Watchkeeper will be responsible for:

Engine room Duty Engineer on rotation as required by the Chief Engineer;

Deck maintenance and rounds on rotation as required by the Chief Engineer;

Maintaining propulsion, auxiliary and ancillary machinery to ensure efficient and effective operation of the vessel and in accordance with PMS requirements;

Maintaining Self Unloading machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and effective operation and in accordance with PMS requirements;

Any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Company from time to time.

About you

Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 3 (required)

AMSA Engine Watchkeeper (Class 3) CoC/CoR Unlimited

Minimum 12 months relevant experience in a related role including at least 36 weeks of sea service on vessels with propulsion power 750 kilowatts

Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable)

Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)

Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)

Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)

Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights

Living in Australia

Be comfortable wearing a respirator
