Job Title: Paint Prep 3

Location: Fremont, CA

Pay: $20–$23/hr

About the job:

As a Paint Prep 3, you'll take on advanced surface preparation to achieve high-grade cosmetic finishes (Class A, B, or C). You’ll work hands-on with sanding, bonding, masking, and quality control to ensure parts are fully ready for the paint process.

We're looking for someone who:

Has a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Has prior experience handling Paint Prep 1 & 2 duties

Understands grit ratings, masking, and oscillation techniques

Is skilled with hand tools, sanders, grinders, and detailed instructions (DPPI)

Takes pride in detail-oriented work and cosmetic quality

Can work safely and flexibly across departments as needed

What you'll do:

Prep surfaces to meet Class A, B, or C finish standards

Apply bondo to conceal hardware and ensure smooth surfaces

Clean and mask parts following strict internal and customer specs

Conduct adhesion and powder coat cure tests

Operate sanding and grinding tools with precision

Train others on masking and prep techniques

Follow all safety protocols and use proper PPE

Collaborate with engineering to refine prep processes
