Job Summary:

The Automation Support role is core of Bechtel's Engineering design and delivery of Project’s completed deliverables. The role is responsible for implementing CAD applications for Project’s Engineering team, configuring them to meet Project requirements and ensuring Project deliverables are aligned. He/she will work with the Project Automation Lead for coordinating Project requirements. The role demands clear understanding of Engineering requirements and aligning CAD applications accordingly to suit Project needs.

Major Responsibilities:

Under minimum supervision, represents CAD Support in response to Project reported problems and to situations that require knowledge of CAD applications

Provides technical support to designers and provides solutions

Perform technical tasks in support of installation, maintenance, and use of 3D Plant Design products

Capable of relating Smart3D to a particular discipline and be familiar with best practices.

Participate in technical workshops and training

Participate in product certification assignments

Under guidance, exercise ingenuity and judgment in development of solutions

Demonstrate knowledge of principles, and concepts.

Understands interrelationship between products

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computers or related science from a four-year accredited college or university and 8+ years’ experience; or in lieu of degree, 11+ years of progressive experience in

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Requires 6+ years of experience implementing, administrating, and supporting Computer Aided 3D Design applications including Smart3D

Experience with Visual Basic 6, Microsoft .NET, COM/.NET and writing SQL queries

Supporting installation, configuration of Smart3D is preferred

Prior design tool administration on projects required
