Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for numbers, models, and chemical processes? Become the driving force behind the optimization of our Stenungsund cracker, a key asset in the Base Chemicals business. We’re looking for a proactive Site Optimizer who thrives on maximizing value through smart modeling, analysis, and collaboration.
What You’ll Do – Turn Insight into Action
As the Site Optimizer, you’ll take the lead in profit maximization through technical and economic analysis, leveraging the powerful Aspen PIMS modeling system. Your role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business strategy and operations, ensuring our cracker is always running at peak profitability.
Execute weekly/monthly optimization using commodity pricing and technical constraints
Interface between Business Unit Base Chemicals (BU BC Europe) and the Stenungsund production team
Guide feed and product decisions, and set operational windows for maximum EBIT
Maintain and improve reference and LP models, tools, and reporting systems
Chair weekly OPEC meetings to translate BU BC targets into production actions
Support projects affecting feedstocks, production rates, or product slates
Track, evaluate, and report on optimization model performance and real-world results
Deliver planning input and ensure top-quality data for all key stakeholders
You will have the decision rights to set up and instruct production based on your model outcomes – a true strategic influencer in our value chain.
About you
We are looking for you who can bring expertise, vision, and drive. We believe you have a university degree in Engineering, 5-10 years of experience within the process industry / operations and hands-on experience with Aspentech PIMS modeling. Also financial literacy and understanding of steam cracker processes. This role requires strong communication skills in both written and spoken Swedish, along with proficiency in English.
