Job Title: Staff Accountant

Work Schedule: 12 Months/Year - 8.75 Hours/Day

Summary: The Staff Accountant role is to support the daily operations of the District’s Finance Department. Salary: $55,000- 65,000 pay is dependent on experiance.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintaining and updating financial records in an organized manner

Reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing basic financial statements

Recording journal entries

Calculating pay cheques for tax and related bills

Completing and submitting tax remittance forms

Performing other bookkeeping duties

Implementing internal controls

Other duties as assigned Education and Experience:

Associates Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required)

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Highly Preferred)

Experience with MS Office and Google Suite applications (Required)

Experience with Tyler Technologies IVisions system (Highly Preferred)

Experience with governmental accounting (Preferred)

Experience with public school district accounting (Highly Preferred)

Strong written and verbal communication skills to present accounting concepts to other professionals

Excellent organization skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality when managing company records

Computer proficiency to work with digitalized financial records

Strong numeracy skills

Ability to establish and monitor financial reporting systems

Critical-thinking and analytical skills

Ability to prepare detailed reports and financial statements

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
