SUMMARY: Responsible for the successful planning, execution and delivery of a program or small and/or phase of a large project by ensuring the identified requirements are met, delivered timely and within budget without compromising quality and scope of work
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for managing multiple projects from concepts throughout delivery. Manage the planning, scope, scheduling, design, budget, resource allocation and risk analysis of current and potential projects. Review project proposals and help determine the time frame and procedures for accomplishing the project, staff requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. Develop, track and implement controls to manage projects and organizational risk. Communicate project status to key stakeholders. Manage the development, negotiation and implementation of bids, contract proposals and/or request of (RFPs) with customers, subcontractors and vendors. Offer assistance and contribute to the continual enhancement and adoption of project management methodology. Manage the entire project including meetings and effectively communicating the project status. Ensure the project success as defined by the project charter/contract. Analyze the project requirements to ensure the project financials including the budget are managed and on task. Coordinate activities following the different phases, tollgates, and approval forums of the projects. Apply appropriate success measures and standards with team members (functional and technical). Document lessons learned during the project; develop and highlight improvement projects in addition to highlight areas for improvements. Coordinate the activities of personnel to ensure a designated project progresses on schedule and within budget parameters. Supports strategic relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project timely delivery, deliverables quality assurance, project methodologies adoption. May supervise project management team(s) consisting of employees, contractors and/or subcontractors including performance management responsibilities.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or a related field; or a combination of post high school education and related experience equal to five (5) years.
EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of related project management experience.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint in addition to utilizing project management software.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in various stages of completion that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to assess project risks and exposures; identify options and alternatives, make decisions and implement corrective actions. Ability to influence team members or external stakeholders to drive decision making and/or resolve issues, interdependencies, risk. Ability to promote and build a team atmosphere, motivate team members in addition to function effectively as part of a team. Ability to organize, manage and lead at the project, program and portfolio level. Ability to plan, execute and control a project establishing realistic estimates and reporting metrics. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Ability to indirectly mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Knowledge of project management, planning and cost control management. Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, budgeting and administrative management.
OTHER: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred.
