Senior Linux/Unix Systems Administrator (OH)

FedWriters is building a team to provide systems administration and IT support services for Oracle/Sun Solaris, HP-UX, and Red Hat Linux operating systems on the Enterprise Infrastructure Test/Dev, Staging, COOP and Production environments for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). As a Senior Linux/Unix Systems Administrator, you will ensure the stable operation of computer software systems and network connections by planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network software and communication links.

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, within normal Government work hours (6:00am to 5:30pm local time) in either Columbus, OH or Dayton, OH.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network software and communication links

Perform system security patching, upgrades, and configuration/policy changes in compliance with all relevant and required cybersecurity requirements

Monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from monitoring tools; perform system failure analysis and recovery

Administer privileged and authorized accounts via Red Hat Identity Manager (IDM) for user accounts and administer system accounts

Monitor the system logs for growth patterns, trends, and intrusion detection

Install, configure and maintain COTS software products that provide operating system support such as Splunk, HBSS, ArcSight, and other products

Qualifications

BA/BS in a technical discipline with at least 10 years of specialized experience (Specialized experience is defined as progressive experience in the field of Information Technology, where the majority are specialized in numerous specialized Information Technology disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, at least four years of which are concentrated, hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining and resolving issues with various software)

Requires active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Relevant RHCSA or CompTIA Linux+ certification from a nationally recognized technical authority is required
