Within our Peterborough plant, Production Generalists help to manufacture stator coils and bars for use in new and refurbished hydropower generators in the North American market.
Responsibilities:
Maintain safe work practices: wearing required personal protective equipment, safe operation of machines, proper lifting techniques
Ensure high quality output: obtaining quality dimensions, visual inspections, measurements
Manual application of insulated tape to the product: meeting specifications of layers and tension
Operation of machines as the product moves to different workstations
Packing of Completed Products for Shipment: Carefully pack finished products, ensuring they are secure and ready for transport. This includes labeling and documenting shipments accurately.
Use of Manufacturing Information Systems: Operate and update manufacturing software to track production progress, inventory levels, and other essential data
Requirements:
Ability to Rotate Amongst Any Workstation/Area: Flexibly to move between different workstations or areas as needed, adapting to various tasks and responsibilities.
Standing for Long Periods of Time: Maintain the ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods, ensuring consistent productivity.
Repetitive Motion: Perform repetitive tasks efficiently, such as assembling parts, operating machinery, or packaging products.
Manual Dexterity (Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Bending): Utilize physical skills to handle materials and products, including lifting heavy items, pulling, and pushing carts, and bending to reach items.
Able to Work All Shifts - Day, Afternoon: Be available to work any shift as required, including weekends, to meet production demands.
Able to Work Overtime as Required: Willingness to work additional hours beyond the standard schedule when necessary to meet deadlines or production goals.
Ability to Lift 30lbs+: Physically capable of lifting and moving items weighing 30 pounds or more.
Experience and Education:
High School Diploma
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Follow sequential operations and use instrumentation.
Strong, productive work ethic
Basic computer skills
Work Environment:
Exposure to copper, chemicals (acetone and epoxy), and dust
Loud noise levels
PPE supplied by company including Safety glasses (non-prescription) gloves, respirator
Heat atmosphere.
