This position is responsible for, but not limited to, processing and closing U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 7a loans and U.S. Department of Agriculture Business and Industry (USDA B&I) loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is expected to perform the specific duties, tasks, and responsibilities as outlined below:

Assist loan officers in working with borrowers to gather information for underwriting and loan approval.

Preparation of loan package for submission to SBA if submitted under General Processing status and entry of loan into ETRAN

Submission of loans into ETRAN for loans submitted under Preferred Lender Status and pull PLP number.

Pull CAIVRS, SAMs, and OFAC reports, submit 4506t requests and compare with tax returns.

Pull credit reports on individuals who will be guarantors on the loan.

Create and maintain a 10 Tab folder for each borrower.

Order appraisals and environmental report’s, as necessary.

Generate list of necessary documentation for loan closings, prepare SBA forms, and work with Borrower to complete list.

Engage closing attorney and work directly with loan officer and borrower and to provide documents and information needed for closing.

Verify borrower equity prior to closing.

Work with loan officer to review closing documents and submit changes to closing attorney.

Assist Loan Operations with wire details needed for loan funding.

Review post-closing packages for completeness and compliance.

Assist with having loan documents signed for sale in Secondary Market.

Engage 3rd party front end analysis and inspection reports on construction loans.

Submit construction pay applications for inspections and fundings to contractors.

Work with Borrowers and Loan Operations on draws for SBA loans.

Assist loan officers and borrowers with servicing matters as needed.

Audit SBA loan files regularly to ensure completeness and work with loan officer and borrower to gather additional documentation as needed.

Upload loan credit files to Web Director (to include financial statements, SBA loan submission documents and closing documents).

Work with New Accounts Area to open DDA and other accounts for borrowers.

Help Borrowers set up ACH payments and work with loan officers on past dues.

Monitor interest reserve accounts and make monthly interest payments on loans.

Ensure that the Bank’s policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with

Provide assistance to other employees by liaising with them through healthy and positive interactions

Be involved in performing marketing endeavors/efforts

Continuously update skills by participating in professional training

All other tasks, responsibilities or duties, as directed by management

EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent work experience in related field

5 - 7 years of previous commercial lending experience in a bank or lending environment

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in government lending preferred

Will provide government guaranteed loans in compliance with Vinings Bank and governmental loan program policies and procedures

Requires knowledge of office practices, procedures and general office machines

Must be able to prepare documents and compose business letters and memorandums

Must be able to maintain confidentiality of customer and employee information

Must be a self-starter and able to work independently

Requires a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to complete tasks correctly, with emphasis on working with and through people in the process

Must possess basic language skills to write and speak clearly, effectively, and appropriate to business standards

Must be able to make sound decisions, have the ability to recognize potential problems, and take corrective action

Must be professional in appearance

Be a team player in recommending and referring additional products and services to other lines of business within the company

ADDITIONAL/IMPORTANT SKILLSETS:

Must have strong communication skills characterized by excellent writing and speaking skills

• Proficient with general office machines and programs to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software that might be utilized in the department

• Ability to use the computer efficiently and the capacity to learn new software programs as they are rolled out by the Bank

Must be well-organized, accurate, and attentive to detail

Must be cooperative and willing to assist coworkers and customers on a regular basis

Must have effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen to others talk (without interruption), understand them, and then propose solutions or make contributions based on the points made by others

Must possess excellent multi-tasking skills and be able to function well under pressure

Must be able to remain composed under pressure and respond to customer and coworker concerns regularly

Must have a keen eye for detail and follow instructions to the letter

Must be patient and willing to help others in solving problems while maintaining a positive attitude at all times

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to function in a professional, business office environment and act and dress appropriately for same, consistent with the Bank’s grooming and dress codes

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation. Employee will be in an office environment (well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned) typically stationed at a desk or table. Employee will be asked to sit and stand for various increments of time, and to lift/push up 10 lbs. Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required. All positions that have lending responsibilities must comply with all requirements under the SAFE ACT, as well as the Credit Union’s policies and procedures related to the SAFE ACT. This includes an obligation on the employee’s part to ensure that NMLA registration pertaining to the SAFE ACT is kept current. The employee must notify the Credit Union within 30 days of any changes that need to be reflected on the NMLS registry.
