Experience must be from a distribution or manufacturing company
Must have Strong computer skills including excel and ERP experience
Hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay is depending on experience $25-$28 per hour
This position is not remote or Hybrid it is in office
Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Pricing Analyst/Purchasing Assistant to support both procurement and pricing operations.
The ideal candidate will combine strong quantitative skills with industry insight to optimize pricing structures, enhance margin performance, and support competitive positioning. This role plays a crucial part in helping the company meet profitability goals while maintaining a competitive edge in the industrial piping market.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing Support
Assist with creating and managing purchase orders
Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking processes based on reorder points.
Track inbound shipments and resolve delivery discrepancies or issues.
Maintain procurement records and supplier information in ERP systems.
Pricing Strategy & Analysis
Develop and implement pricing models based on cost analysis, market dynamics, and competitor benchmarks.
Analyze historical sales data and customer trends to identify pricing opportunities and risks.
Propose pricing adjustments for key product based on margin targets and market shifts.
Cost & Margin Management
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure current and accurate cost data for pricing decisions.
Monitor product cost changes (e.g., resin price fluctuations) and update pricing models accordingly.
Support gross margin improvement initiatives across product categories.
Customer & Contract Pricing
Maintain and manage customer-specific price lists, bids, and volume-based pricing structures.
Ensure consistency and accuracy in customer quotations and large project pricing.
Work with the sales team to evaluate the profitability of key accounts and proposals.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Conduct competitor pricing audits and market surveys.
Provide periodic reports on pricing effectiveness, customer responsiveness, and competitive trends.
Support executive decision-making with insights on pricing performance and elasticity.
Systems & Process Improvement
Maintain pricing tools and ERP systems to ensure data integrity and streamlined workflows.
Identify opportunities to automate and improve pricing workflows and governance processes.
Qualifications
Education
Business Degree, Experience in Supply Chain, or related field (required).
Experience
2â 5 years of experience in pricing, finance, data analysis, or a related field.
Prior experience in the industrial distribution, construction materials, or plumbing supply sectors is highly desirable.
Skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.); experience with Cloudsuite Distribution is a plus.
Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Epicor).
Strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights.
Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Work Environment
Fast-paced environment with a strong focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
