Job Description:

Accenture Federal Services' Defense and Intelligence Portfolio is seeking a Materials Lab Manager and Lead Researcher to join a dynamic team and contribute to the research and development of cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities:

As a Materials Lab Manager and Lead Researcher you will be expected to oversee all lab management functions and direct research conducted.

Specific duties include but are not limited to: Design, develop, fabricate, analyze and test materials, including adaptation of various materials and processing techniques to meet key application requirements

Perform analytical method development and validation to demonstrate material characteristics or product suitability versus application requirements

Conduct rigorous data collection and correctly apply analytical tests and instrumentation in the laboratory, demonstrating familiarity with advanced design of experiment techniques and statistical analysis to design, conduct, and evaluate experiments

Evaluate and interpret collected data, performance results, and client deliverables Prepare various technical reports and presentations for internal and external dissemination covering laboratory capabilities, research outcomes, and deliverables

Monitor scientific, patent and trade literature to stay current on latest technologies and material developments, identify relevant emerging technologies and novel materials, and leverage information to advance lab capabilities

Maintain up-to-date, well-organized, clear and accurate information in lab notebooks and design records

Oversee the storage, cleaning, and disposal of equipment and chemicals utilized

Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, standard operating procedures and best practices

Here's what you need:

PhD in Chemistry with experience in material development

Or Master's degree and 3 years of this experience

OR Bachelor's degree and 5 years of this experience

Experience with adhering to required security protocols for research

Bonus points if you have:

Experience preferably in adhesives, coatings, synthetic polymer chemistry, hydrogels, the cosmetics or special effects industry, or related fields

At least two (2) years of experience as a lead researcher on materials development projects

At least two (2) years of experience with human subjects testing, including writing study protocols, interacting with IRBs, and maintaining HSR certifications, preferably including experience with classified human subjects testing

Security Clearance:

Active Secret security clearance required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia is:

$114,600—$147,100 USD
