High Level Statement of the Role:

The Process Technician is responsible for ensuring quality of manufactured product by providing sound processes, software and equipment controls to manufacturing floor. Ensuring these fit within the framework of the quality system. The Process Technician is the first point of contact for technical support on the production floor.

The Process Technician is responsible for:

Establishing and maintaining first point of contact for engineering support to production lines.

Providing technical leadership to the production floor.

Continuously refine, improve as well as provide supporting data to the production process and methods to continuously reduce product cost, improve ergonomics, and improve quality.

Incorporate new manufacturing process requirements into the appropriate design guidelines.

Support KEJ Customer Engineers to evaluate the requirements for assembly tooling, fixtures, and equipment required to support product schedule and cost goals, etc )

Provide guidance and leadership on equipment issues in parallel with Technical Maintenance.

Ensure the quality of the product that is manufactured and customer requirements are being met.

Key Performance Objectives:

Short Term to Midterm: (0 to 3 months)

Learn KEJ systems and controls by reviewing existing applicable processes, SOPs, quality systems, and work instructions by the end of the third month.

Complete On the job training form including Valor introduction, PAIs, ECO/Deviation process, Continual Improvements, and so forth. Will be completed by the end of month three.

Complete training on MP2 system used for scheduling of computerized systems backup by end of month three.

Complete operational training for depanel. (i.e.., how to scan & load a program, set/tune FID detection, clear basic error, replenish consumable items, quality defect triggers, etc.…)

Complete operational training for DEK Screen printer. (i.e.., how to scan/load a program, set/tune FID detection, set/tune controls for print quality, replenish consumable items, clear basic error, quality defect triggers, etc.…)

Complete operational training for Wave & Select Solder. (i.e.., clear basic machine errors, load programs, replenish consumable items, understands defect causes, etc…)

Complete operational training on Smart Screwdriver Stations.

Midterm: (3 to 6 months)

Complete Yellow belt training by the end of month six.

Complete training on backup of computerized systems.

Complete operational training for all SMT lines. (i.e.., how to scan & load reels, clear basic machine errors, load programs, understands defect causes, etc.…)

Complete thermal profile training by end of month six.

Complete operational training for Wave & Select Solder. (i.e.., clear basic machine errors, load programs, replenish consumable items, understands defect causes, etc.…)

Complete operational training for conformal coating machine. (i.e.., clear basic machine errors, load programs, replenish consumable items, confirm weights, quality defect triggers, etc.…)

Long-term: (6 to >12 months)

Complete Green Belt training by end of year one.

Complete Creative Problem Solving class by end of year one.

Complete programming training on area/line/equipment of responsibility by end of year one.

Ability to setup probes and perform thermal profiling without assistance by end of year one.

Ability to create a new program for Smart Screwdriver Stations.
