Job Summary: Host Upscale Cocktail Bar – River North, Chicago

We are seeking a poised, personable, and professional host to join our dynamic team at our high-end cocktail bar located in the heart of River North. As the first and last impression of the guest experience, you will play a pivotal role in setting the tone for exceptional hospitality. The ideal candidate is polished, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, elevated environment.

You will warmly greet guests, manage reservations and seating charts with finesse, and work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service. A strong sense of hospitality, attention to detail, and a calm, confident presence are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet guests with a welcoming and professional demeanor

Manage reservations and walk-ins using a digital seating system

Coordinate with servers and management to optimize guest flow

Maintain an organized host stand and lobby area

Ensure wait times and guest expectations are communicated clearly

Provide knowledgeable insight about the venue, menu, and events

Qualifications:

Previous hosting or hospitality experience in an upscale or high-volume setting preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

A polished, well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor

Ability to remain composed under pressure
