Mechanical Project Manager
Job Description
We are looking for a Sr Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our industrial HVAC & utility system design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Newark, DE. Flexibility to sit in Philadelphia as a last resort. Some hybrid flexibility is also available. Project types are mostly industrial in nature, including Pharma, Chemical, etc. This candidate must be a technically focused mechanical engineer to help with production while leading the design floor.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the design of mechanical utility & HVAC systems, including sizing and selection of building mechanical equipment such as air handlers, chillers, pumps, fans, cooling towers, compressors, dryers, boilers, VRF & DX split systems, and terminal devices.
Perform a variety of engineering calculations, such as HVAC load & ventilation air calculations, psychometrics, pipe flow/pressure drop, ductwork sizing, ductwork static pressure, and hydraulic analysis for piping sizing and layout.
Utilize building load calculation software such as Trane Trace.
Develop building energy models when necessary.
Apply knowledge of relevant MEP industry codes & standards, such as ASHRAE, ICC Codes, NFPA, and SMACNA.
Develop and write equipment & project specifications.
Interact with internal team members as well as external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and contractors.
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and technical guidance to other Engineers and Designers in the MEP group.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
8+ years of professional experience
PE highly preferred
Proficiency with engineering tools like AutoCAD; Microstation and Revit are a plus
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with HVAC Systems, Air Handlers, Chillers, Pumps, Fans, Cooling Towers, Compressors, Dryers, Boilers, Load Calculations, Flow, Ductwork, BIM, Mechanical Design, Sizing, and Piping
Knowledge of building load calculation software such as Trane Trace
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
