About the Position:

The Event and Sales Associate manages sales of private and group experiences within their market segment(s), from inquiry to signed event contract. Responsible for selling fully customized private charters, packaged private experiences, and group tickets on public offerings, the Event and Sales Associate works to understand the needs of each client and matches them with the right experience. As such, they achieve revenue goals by building relationships with new and repeat business, optimizing communication, and customizing proposals to increase close rates. In close collaboration with the rest of the Sales and Operations Teams, they build client loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each client experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond promptly to inbound inquiries, provide information based on stated and anticipated needs, and conduct follow-up on leads and proposals

Optimize event proposals and communication for each individual client, adjusting to increase close rate and maximize overall revenue

Generate contracts for clients and communicate expectations and needs to Sales Coordinator/Event Manager to ensure the successful handoff of contracted events for execution

Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business

Conduct site visits as needed, highlighting the unique features of our vessels as event venues

Coordinate closely with the Sales and Operations teams to optimize vessel utilization and overall revenue

Utilize CRM and other software to track sales activities and follow-up tasks, including maintaining accurate records of client interactions

Maintains expert-level knowledge of all product offerings and persuasively communicates the unique features of each

Contribute to the development of marketing materials and strategies to promote group and private offerings

Participate in product development of group and private offerings to better meet the needs of and increase business from their market

Stay up to date on industry trends, including participating in industry events/organizations and contributing to annual competitor analysis

Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

$25 to $28 per hour depending on experience, non-exempt position.

Eligible for discretionary sales bonus program.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

1-3 years' experience in the event and/or hospitality industry

Excellent communication, including written, spoken, and presentation skills, with both internal colleagues and external clients, vendors, and partners, with the dual purpose of closing business and building long-term relationships

Highly organized with excellent time-management skills; able to effectively prioritize and manage tasks in a high-volume pipeline

Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve individual and shared goals

Demonstrated ability to creatively problem solve and resolve difficult and/or complicated situations

Adaptable to changing priorities based on shifting market conditions, client requests, and business needs/constraints

High school diploma or GED

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in event venue sales

Experience building and/or maintaining a network of clients

Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM

Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or related field or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This position requires the manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment, and the ability to sit and to use a computer for significant periods of time.

May need to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

May be required to work in variable weather conditions/work environments, including occasionally outdoors

Must be able to move between office, docks, ramps, decks, unpaved paths, and boats without assistance.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
