Position Overview:
The Patient Scheduling and Registration Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless patient experience by managing scheduling and registration processes for the healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Scheduling: Manage inbound and outbound calls for patient scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment confirmation. Ensure appointment details are accurately documented.
Registration: Accurately collect and input patient demographic, insurance, and medical information into the healthcare system.
Customer Service: Provide clear communication with patients regarding appointment logistics, preparation instructions, and any special requirements.
Insurance Verification: Perform insurance eligibility checks and coordinate with insurance providers to confirm coverage for scheduled services.
Data Entry and Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient information in the system. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with clinical teams, insurance coordinators, and other administrative staff to ensure optimal scheduling and registration practices.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve scheduling conflicts or registration issues with efficiency and professionalism.
Compliance and Policy Adherence: Follow all hospital and regulatory guidelines concerning patient privacy (HIPAA), insurance processes, and internal policies.
