Assistant Controller
Description:
Our client in the construction industry, based in Waterloo, is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their growing team! This position will be responsible for 1 direct report along with budgeting and forecassting, preparing monthly financial statements, supporting daily operations, and liaising with external accountants during year-end procedures. Itâ s an excellent opportunity for individuals currently in public accounting who are looking to transition into an industry role.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation of annual working papers
Responsible for reviewing the work of the direct report
Own Budgeting and forecasting process
Handle income tax filings and T-slips for all projects
Manage and review project financials
Develop, implement, and maintain process improvements
Collaborate closely with management on strategic planning and contribute to company and team growth
Support with ad-hoc projects as needed
Requirements:
Candidates with 5+ years of experience in public accounting looking to move into industry
CPA designation is highly preferred
High attention to detail #ACC1
