Bilingual Voter Clerk Opportunity – Vietnamese Required

Openwork is proud to partner with the Harris County Tax Office to recruit dedicated Bilingual Voter Clerks (Temporary) for the Harris County Administration Building. This is an excellent opportunity to support essential public services and contribute to a smooth electoral process in our diverse community.

Position Details:

Role: Bilingual Voter Clerk (Temporary)

Pay: $15 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend shifts as needed

Location: Downtown Houston

Key Responsibilities:

Verify and process voter registration applications and related documents

Generate voter registration certificates

Answer incoming calls and assist the public with voter registration inquiries

Process phone and mail-in voter requests

Provide general election information (e.g., precinct numbers, polling locations, early voting and Election Day details)

Prepare incoming mail for imaging and processing

Qualifications:

Bilingual proficiency in Vietnamese is required

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

At least 1 year of recent in-person customer service and data entry experience.

Strong attendance and punctuality

Type a minimum of 30 WPM (skills testing will be administered)

Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, especially during election periods

Important Information: Candidates will be required to undergo background checks, including criminal (city, state, and national), drug screening, and verification of education and employment, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
