Training Specialist - Manufacturing Operations

Sylmar, CA

Contract Position

$39.23-$43.58/Hour

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of hands-on and digital training programs for manufacturing technicians.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create training materials, including manuals, presentations, and e-learning content.

Support the development and maintenance of the on-site training center.

Deliver practical training sessions on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety standards.

Employ a variety of training formats such as simulations, workshops, and on-the-job training to ensure skill retention.

Document training processes, maintain accurate training records, and ensure compliance with SPL and Boeing training management standards.

Develop and administer assessments to measure trainee competency and program effectiveness.

Gather participant and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve training quality and delivery.

Partner with production management to identify workforce development needs and align training with operational goals.

Ensure training programs comply with industry regulations and foster a safe, development-focused workplace culture.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical training or instructional design, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional best practices.

Proficient with training software/tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
