Sr Accountant GAAP Reporting

Purpose:The Senior Accountant, GAAP Reporting position will report to the Director GAAP Reporting, and collaborate with peers and leaders across the organization to manage and execute financial processes independently.

Accountabilities:

Analyze financial results by researching and resolving variances and inconsistencies in financial statements using standard accounting techniques and practices

Lead projects related to financial reporting, focusing on the implementation of standalone reporting

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve mutual objectives and support problem-solving initiatives

Prepare work papers, conduct data analysis, and aggregate information for annual external audits and examinations

Contribute to SEC and GAAP reporting processes

Coordinate and develop GAAP ledger infrastructure and reports

Implement GAAP accounting policies for new business transactions

Support additional finance projects as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

5+ years of experience in GAAP accounting and reporting; experience in the insurance industry is preferred.

Oracle, Essbase, and Hyperion experience is preferred

Familiarity with Workiva’s Wdesk solution is preferred

CPA and/or FLMI designations completed or in progress is preferred

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to draw conclusions from research and report findings effectively

Proficient with MS Office products, including Excel and Word

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
