Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Busbar Punching and Bending Machine Operator for our Fabrication Department. This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar’s Busbar Punching and Bending Machine Operator position is an important part of Trystar’s plan to become the world’s foremost custom solution provider.

The Busbar Punching and Bending Machine Operator is a skilled professional responsible for operating specialized machinery used to punch and bend busbars - metal bars or strips used for conducting electricity - according to engineering specifications. They play a vital role in the manufacturing process of electrical components and assemblies.

In this role you will get to:

Machine Setup: Prepare and set up the busbar punching and bending machine by loading the appropriate tools, dies, and busbar materials. Ensure the machine is properly calibrated and aligned for precise punching and bending operations.

Punching Operations: Operate the machine to punch holes or cutouts into the busbars based on engineering drawings and specifications. This includes selecting the correct punching tools and adjusting machine settings for various hole sizes and shapes.

Bending Operations: Use the machine to accurately bend the busbars to the required angles and dimensions, following bending sequences and measurements provided in the engineering drawings.

Material Handling: Load and position busbar materials onto the machine's work area, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate punching and bending.

Quality Control: Regularly inspect punched and bent busbars to verify dimensional accuracy and quality, using measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve minor issues or deviations that may occur during the punching and bending process, such as material irregularities or machine malfunctions.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating the busbar punching and bending machine, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety regulations.

Production Monitoring: Monitor the manufacturing process to maintain a steady workflow and promptly address any deviations or inefficiencies.

Documentation: Accurately record production data, machine settings, and maintenance activities to maintain production records and assist in process improvement efforts.

Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.

Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth production flow and meet production targets.

Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience as a Busbar Punching and Bending Machine Operator or in a similar role within the electrical manufacturing industry is highly desirable.

Must have experience in machine operation or mechanical ability and aptitude to understand how manufacturing equipment works together in a line to produce high quality products.

2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical education or vocational training in machine operation or metalworking is preferred.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Experience with busbar punching and bending machine operation and basic maintenance tasks.

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to use measuring instruments and maintain accurate records.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, this includes but is not limited to, Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection.

Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.

Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc. and to keep accurate account of materials used during manufacturing process including scrap amounts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The job may involve standing for extended periods and lifting/moving busbar materials (up to 50 pounds).

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are essential for operating the busbar punching and bending machine and handling materials.

Frequent lifting, standing, bending & reaching required.
