We're on the lookout for a dynamic Director to lead our After School Program for the 2024-25 school year at Silver Creek Elementary School in Silver Creek, NY. As the Director, you'll be the driving force behind every aspect of the operation of the Healthy Kids Program Site.
JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
PAY: $17.00 per hour
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Ensuring Compliance: Make sure staff and programming stay aligned with OCFS regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and the guidelines of our host school.
Delivering Fun & Learning: Lead dynamic, hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum—think fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. And yes, you'll be the go-to person for homework help too!
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily management duties like keeping attendance and registration records up to date, and ensuring there’s sufficient staff coverage to run the program efficiently.
Family Communication: Stay connected with parents and guardians via the Playground App, keeping them in the loop.
Team Synergy: Keep in regular contact with your direct supervisor to share updates, discuss concerns, and maintain a supportive, collaborative team environment. Together, we'll ensure high-quality care, a positive workplace, and proactive problem-solving.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
To be qualified as a director, a person must possess either:
Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field; and two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
OR
A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential; and two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
OR
A School-Age Child Care Credential or another office-recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period; and two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
OR
Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field; and two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to pass a full background check (including fingerprinting, reference checks, and clearance through SEL & SCR via NYS Office of Children and Family Services).
Must be medically cleared to perform all duties, including being free from communicable diseases such as TB.
Energetic, approachable, and dependable. You connect well with children, families, and coworkers. Reliability and professionalism are musts.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., moving with kids, and adapting to an active work environment.
