Job Description
Since 1952, Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area. Our Outreach Center provides food, furniture, clothing and other household goods to individuals and families coming out of homelessness. This new operation seeks an Outreach Center Warehouse Assistant to assist in daily operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Catalog all gifts in kind donations and enter them into inventory.
Restore and repair furniture donations.
Produce and maintain accurate documentation.
Execute pick lists and other applicable documents to fill orders.
Assist on dock or throughout warehouse when applicable.
Safely operate all warehouse and moving equipment.
Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly facility and accurate inventory.
Mentor others, including junior staff, volunteers, and interns throughout the year.
Due to the interface with the clients, all jobs at Light of Life require employees to:
Walk alongside clients as a disciple of Christ and share the Gospel through actions and words.
Establish mutual trust and create a safe, authentic environment so that the clients continue to mature in Christ.
Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the staff manual.
Practice effective stewardship of all resources.
Model personal responsibility, accountability, timely reporting and a self-evaluative lifestyle.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum high school diploma or GED
Valid PA Driver's license and clean driving record
7-10 years' driving experience
Furniture delivery experience preferred
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to lift large objects like furniture and appliances
Valid driver's license and safe driving record
Ability to operate warehouse equipment including dolly, pump jack, power jack, and/or other material handling equipment
Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of General Driving Safety Principles
Knowledge of substance abuse issues and recovery helpful
