Pay: $39k-$41k

TOOL & DIE MAKER

JOB PURPOSE: To perform any necessary machining operations to design, build, fabricate, or repair jigs, fixtures, machine components, complex tooling and dies.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Frequent walking, occasional sitting and standing

Normal vision and hearing

Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching

Frequent handling and fingering

Manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination

Occasional pushing and pulling

Ability to write, read, and distinguish numbers, symbols, and dimensions from diagrams, blueprints, or charts

Ability to count and perform simple mathematical operations

Must be able to understand decimal and fractional amounts

Must be able to read and understand precision measuring instruments

Considerable judgment required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Read blueprints to determine specifications

Inspect visually and manually (feel/touch)

Write/record numbers and results to sheets or tags

Frequently, use stationary power tools (band saw, drill press, vertical mill, lathe, grinder, etc.) and hand-held power tools

Frequently, use small hand tools including punches, taps, and dies

Use coolants, spray lubricants, oils, greases, and dyes

Frequently, use a variety of measuring instruments

Frequently, use precise measuring instruments to check tolerances

Frequently, push/pull levers, knobs, buttons, or switches, and turn wheels

Occasionally, perform maintenance operations on machined parts

Must be able to rotate and move around throughout home and other departments, as needed.
