#Hiring: IT Manufacturing Systems Architect
Location: Memphis, TN
Salary: $140,000 – $145,000 per year

About the Role
Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an experienced IT Manufacturing Systems Architect to support digital manufacturing strategy and scalable technology solutions for a new manufacturer just outside Memphis, TN. In this role, you’ll lead IT-OT architecture efforts, drive innovation through IIoT and Industry 4.0 initiatives, and enable secure, integrated systems across enterprise-wide operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and manage end-to-end IT architecture for manufacturing plants, including IT-OT systems and enterprise integration
Align manufacturing IT architecture with corporate IT strategy
Develop and maintain current and future state architecture documentation
Lead digital manufacturing initiatives focused on IIoT, Industry 4.0, and AI/ML
Manage proof of concept projects and evaluate emerging technologies
Translate business requirements into scalable architectural solutions
Oversee cross-domain IT initiatives and resolve architectural challenges
Drive Manufacturing IT governance and ensure compliance with industry standards
Qualifications & Requirements
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 7 years as an IT Manufacturing Systems Architect
10+ years of experience in manufacturing IT systems
5+ years implementing SCADA & PLC platforms
Technical Skills:
Proven IT-OT integration, OT cybersecurity, and IIoT implementation experience
Strong background in MES & ERP system integration
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman)
Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), virtualization, and modernization
Working knowledge of EA tools (System Architect, Troux, or similar)
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience working with C-level executives and presenting technical solutions
Ability to drive consensus on architecture decisions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience leading digital transformation in fast-paced environments
