BIM Modeler Single-family Post & Beam Custom Homes Greater Seattle Area
Day-to-Day
A day in the life of a BIM Modeler begins with receiving a new project assignment from a Job Captain. The BIM Modeler is expected to thoroughly review all design documents, sketches, and material specifications before jumping into the drafting process.
Once familiar with the scope and intent, they begin creating schematic designs using Revit and continue the project through design development and construction documentation. A significant portion of the day is spent reviewing and incorporating redline markups from multiple stakeholders, including the Job Captain, engineers, and clients.
This role requires a proactive, problem-solving mindset where questioning unclear directions and collaborating with the team is encouraged. Throughout the day, the BIM Modeler works within the Company’s template and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
While the role is primarily drafting-focused, candidates with a deeper understanding of Revit families and parameters, as well as post-and-beam construction, will find opportunities for growth into future roles such as BIM Coordinator.
