JOB DESCRIPTION: DELI CLERK
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Rotates, stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines
Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap &/or container
Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures
Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment
Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products
Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintains a neat and clean work area.
Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
Perform all job functions with limited supervision
May be required to decorate cakes
Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds
Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager
Other duties as assigned
