Position Summary
The Senior accountant will assist in the monthly financial close, monthly financial reporting, account reconciliations, annual audit process and complete various ad-hoc analyses and requests as needed.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
Serve as the right-hand person to the controller
Perform month-end account closing activities and reconciliations.
Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for depreciation, payroll, accruals and variances etc.
Generate and distribute account management reports on a monthly basis.
Perform accounting analysis for cash accruals, accounts payables, accounts receivables, and reconciliations.
Assist various departments in accounting issues and queries.
Manage intercompany accounts and reconciliations.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and revenue accounts.
Review financial reports to identify and explain variances.
Adhere to standard accounting principles and company procedures.
Perform accounting analyses and reporting to support decision-making purposes.
Monitors cycle count program and help during physical inventories
Monitors and ensure accuracy of Inventory cost
Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
Planning, Studying and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
Analyzing data collected and recording results
Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports
Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
Review inventory reports and process adjustments as needed
Working with operations to identify cost reductions and/or efficiency improvements
Support annual audit process
Working Environment
The work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment in an office setting. Although most work is performed in an office setting there is some need to be on the plant floor and some travel may be required for the role.Requirements:
Qualifications and Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Preferably 4-5 years of experience in a similar staff accounting or financial analysis role with a Certified Public Accountant’s (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant’s (CMA) designation/license.
Knowledge or prior use of financial ERP software and advanced Microsoft excel skills.
Effective interpersonal skills along with demonstrated oral communication skills are essential for this position.
