Civil Engineer

Job Description

The Civil Project Engineer will provide support to engineering projects for facility improvements and expansions for all of our plastic pipe manufacturing, warehouses, and leasing factories. There will be involvement with plant personnel, our property management team, and outside contractors for work scope and cost review, as well as construction management to ensure projects are in specs, on time, and within budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Be the project leader in all civil related facility improvement projects for our 20+ manufacturing properties, including but not limit to buildings, grounds, water utility, offices, fire sprinklers, equipment platforms, and other structural support.

· Coordinate with vendors and plant personnel to design, review, and implement improvements in the construction and ensure the quality of civil work is satisfactory for the continuous success of plant operations.

· Create, evaluate, and compare work scope and quotations from contractors of various civil works, with clear understanding of regulations, codes, etc. to ensure regulatory compliance and safety for the projects.

· Prepare purchasing related documentations and directly involve in price negotiation, process approval, payment submission and tracking, etc. for civil contract works.

· Use project management skills to manage project from initiation phase through completion which includes work scope review, budget evaluation, project scheduling and execution, supplier follow ups, and logistics activities.

· Design using AutoCAD for site plans and construction design drawings.

· Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills.

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no initial supervisory responsibilities, but with potential to move into Project Manager role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering

· Minimum 7 years of related experience in the job offered or in the related occupations as Civil Engineer.Company Description
