Senior Desktop Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Engineer to lead the management and maintenance of our SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) environment, ensuring optimal performance and security. In this role, you will oversee a team of system administrators, supporting desktop infrastructure across on-premise and cloud-based environments (Intune, Azure). Your expertise will drive desktop patching, system optimization, and automation, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
SCCM Management: Oversee SCCM environment for system deployments, updates, and patches, ensuring efficiency and security.
System Health & Optimization: Proactively monitor, maintain, and optimize desktop environments, focusing on patching, security, and performance.
Collaboration & Support: Partner with IT teams to resolve issues, optimize configurations, and support enterprise-wide initiatives.
Intune & Azure Management: Manage Intune for desktop and mobile device management, integrating with Azure for cloud-based solutions.
On-Premise Infrastructure: Maintain on-premise desktop infrastructure alongside SCCM, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Incident Resolution & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex desktop-related issues to minimize downtime.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain technical documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Desktop Patching: Manage desktop patching processes, ensuring all systems are updated and secure.
Intune Patching Automation: Automate patching in Intune to streamline device update management.
Windows 11 Image Development: Develop and maintain Windows 11 H2 images for deployment (Experience with Build 24H2 is a plus).
Windows 11 OS Testing: Lead testing and validation of Windows 11 builds, ensuring compatibility with enterprise environments.
Driver Management: Maintain up-to-date drivers for all desktop and laptop models, ensuring compatibility and performance.
Job Requirements:
5+ years as a Desktop Engineer or Systems Administrator, specializing in SCCM.
Proven expertise in Intune for device management and cloud integration.
Strong experience managing on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.
Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of SCCM (deployment, patching, reporting, and health monitoring).
Experience with Intune for device management and configuration.
Familiarity with Azure-based cloud management solutions.
Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 desktop OS and related technologies.
Leadership & Problem-Solving:
Experience leading a team of system administrators or IT professionals.
Ability to provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in enterprise desktop environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Directory and Group Policy Management experience.
Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Endpoint Administrator).
Experience integrating cloud solutions with on-premise IT infrastructure.
