Structures Technician / Sheet Metal Fabricator

Roles & Responsibilities:

Plan, layout, and perform internal and external structural repairs, fabrication, modification, and installation of parts, items, and assemblies.

Interpret and apply technical data such as engineering drawings, manufacturers’ manuals, and other approved data to complete tasks.

Perform miscellaneous duties, including servicing and jacking aircraft and supporting overall structural maintenance needs.

Ensure all work complies with applicable FAA regulations, manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, company directives, and other approved data.

Apply knowledge of structural methods and materials to fabricate and repair parts for heavy equipment, vehicles, or aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.

Experience with Major Alterations and STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) projects is a plus.

Competency Requirements:

Proficiency in spoken and written English language communication and comprehension.

Strong understanding of general safety practices and the ability to work with various materials, including sheet metal and structural components.

Ability to read, interpret, and apply instructions from schematics, engineering drawings, and manuals.

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding/fabrication equipment.

Familiarity with structural methods in industries like aerospace, shipbuilding, or heavy equipment manufacturing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and general computer literacy.

Qualification/Experience Requirements:

3+ years of practical experience in sheet metal work, structural fabrication, and installation, preferably in heavy equipment, aerospace, or shipbuilding industries.

Military experience in similar roles may be considered.

Experience in the aerospace industry or knowledge of FAA regulations is beneficial but not required.

Experience with shipbuilding, steel fabrication, or similar industries is highly desirable.
