The ideal candidate will be well organized and comfortable dealing with financial data. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, utilizing accounting software to manage and process financial data, and supporting accounting teams as needed. They should be excellent at recording data and have an ability to product clear financial reports.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day financial transactions, conducting month-end and year-end accounting closing activities, such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, financial statements, journal entries including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll entries.
Draft and issue client invoices, follow up on outstanding A/R.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers using QuickBooks accounting software.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Monitor cash flow and assist in budget development and financial forecasting.
Oversight of purchase order and invoicing workflow.
Produce job costing analysis, profitability analysis and ad hoc projects as needed.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement process.
Collaborate with external tax accountant and provide documentation as needed for returns.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 +years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong attention to details, organization skills and excellent communication skills
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Experience in the construction and concrete industry is a plus
