Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Director of Platform Integrations to oversee our technical integration initiatives. In this role, you will build and lead a growing team of Platform Integration Engineers—ensuring seamless deployment of Surfside’s digital SDKs, e-commerce tracking, POS/API connections, and advanced retail media solutions for our diverse client base.

You’ll own the entire integration function, working closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to define processes, best practices, and priorities. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Surfside’s technology is delivered and scaled for clients across multiple industry verticals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Management

• Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing integrations team (Engineers, Implementation Specialists, Technical Support, etc.).

• Set clear goals and KPIs for the team, providing regular feedback and performance reviews.

2. Strategy & Planning

• Develop a comprehensive roadmap for platform integrations, aligning with company objectives and product releases.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success) to establish integration requirements and prioritize initiatives.

3. Process & Best Practices

• Design and refine end-to-end integration processes, focusing on scalability, repeatability, and quality.

• Champion documentation, standards, and rigorous QA to ensure data accuracy and reliability across all client implementations.

4. Technical Execution & Oversight

• Serve as the executive sponsor for complex or high-priority integrations, guiding the technical approach and overseeing successful delivery.

• Review technical designs and architectures; provide strategic input on data capture, POS/API connections, and advanced configurations.

5. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with Customer Success and Sales to ensure an excellent client experience, from kickoff to post-deployment support.

• Provide executive-level updates on integration progress, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

6. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Evaluate current tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance integration efficiency (e.g., new tracking scripts, ETL solutions, automation).

• Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring Surfside’s platform integrations remain cutting-edge and scalable.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in technical program management, solutions engineering, or integration roles, with at least 2+ years in a leadership capacity.

• Hands-on technical background with proficiency in JavaScript, API integrations, data pipelines, and web technologies (HTML, CSS).

• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering or integration teams in a fast-paced, growing environment.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across diverse teams and clients.

• Exceptional communication abilities—capable of interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C-level executives.

• Analytical mindset—comfortable with data validation, debugging tools, and ensuring end-to-end data quality.

• Bonus: Experience with ad-tech, retail media platforms, or e-commerce/POS integrations at scale.
