Description
The Development Support Specialist’s role is to work on a Java based WCS (Warehouse Controls Software) system. The engineer will be traveling as part of a team to several Automation sites and working on live systems, in various types of work environments.
This is a full-time role. US Citizens and GC Holders preferred as we are unable to sponsor for this role. Must be local to Pittsburgh or willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
Troubleshooting live system issues, in a timely manner.
Analyzing software logging and making system changes in the DB, UI, or Code.
Analyze existing code and system configurations to determine potential issues.
Configure the software and database to each specific automation system.
Code change requests and live enhancements during on-site commissioning periods.
Training and assistance for customers and operators during a commissioning period.
Travel up to 75%
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering
Knowledge & Experience
Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, including Java and SQL.
Hands on familiarity of SQL development studios and writing SQL stored procedures/views.
Understanding of coding methods and best practices
Understanding of platforms such as Java WebServices, Microsoft Windows and Apache
