Title: DevSecOps Engineer - Active SC required.
Location/Schedule: Hybrid (Washington, D.C.) 80% remote 20% onsite
Company/Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our mission-driven team supporting critical national security initiatives. This hybrid role, based in Washington, D.C., requires an active Secret clearance or higher. You will be a key player in deploying and maintaining secure, scalable solutions across on-premise and cloud environments, with a strong focus on Kubernetes orchestration and FedRAMP compliance.
Responsibilities:
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Kubernetes in on-premise and cloud (AWS GovCloud) environments.
Maintain and optimize Helm charts for consistent and secure application deployments.
Ensure systems and services meet FedRAMP and DoD compliance standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Enterprise.
Monitor system performance, security, and availability, proactively resolving issues as part of an on-call rotation.
Integrate security best practices into the software development and deployment lifecycle (DevSecOps).
Document deployment processes and system configurations, maintaining operational readiness and auditability.
Qualifications:
Active U.S. Government Security Clearance – Secret or higher (required).
5+ years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps roles, preferably in DoD or federal environments.
Proficient with Kubernetes for production-grade deployments and orchestration.
Experience with on-premise Kubernetes environments and hybrid architectures.
Familiarity with FedRAMP requirements and implementation strategies.
Strong knowledge of AWS GovCloud or similar secure cloud infrastructures.
Proficient in using Helm for Kubernetes package management.
Hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise and CI/CD automation tools.
Ability to code in some type of OOP language e.g. Python, Java, PHP, etc.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Experience in building secure software supply chains.
Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar.
