Description:

We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support a busy team of attorneys in a well-regarded law firm in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite near Dupont Circle, 2 remote), with a standard schedule of 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

The role will start on a temporary basis, with an hourly pay rate of $35-$38/hour, and has strong potential to convert to a permanent position with a salary between $83,000-$90,000, depending on experience.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in legal administrative work - particularly in billing, scheduling, document management, and attorney support - who is looking for a long-term home, not a short-term stepping stone.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-level administrative support to multiple attorneys.

Prepare and manage client billing using 3E/Elite.

Draft, format, proofread, and manage legal documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Handle scheduling, calendar management, travel coordination, and meeting prep.

Manage legal filings, maintain client files and records using iManage or similar DMS.

Assist with expense reports, time entry, and CRM data entry (InterAction preferred).

Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and internal departments.

Provide backup and overflow support to the administrative team as needed.

What We're Looking For:

3-8 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant in a law firm.

Strong knowledge of client billing practices and outside counsel guidelines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iManage, and 3E/Elite (required).

Excellent written/verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Friendly, adaptable, and team-oriented with a proactive mindset.

Availability to work overtime, if needed.

Bonus:

Experience with federal and state court filing procedures.

Familiarity with space management tools (e.g., Maptition).

Previous support of multiple attorneys in litigation or environmental law is a plus.

If you're a polished legal admin looking to step into a dynamic and respected law firm, we'd love to hear from you. This role offers the chance to get started immediately on a temp basis, with the goal of converting to a long-term position if it's a strong mutual fit.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance. For unincorporated Los Angeles county, to the extent our customers require a background check for certain positions, the Company faces a significant risk to its business operations and business reputation unless a review of criminal history is conducted for those specific job positions.
