Job Description:
As a Sr. Vehicle Validation Engineer at Meyers Manx, you will play a pivotal role in the development of our dune buggies, focusing on the durability, reliability attribute and validation. Join our dynamic team to lead the charge in designing, engineering, and developing the next generation of Meyers Manx vehicles.
Technical Responsibilities:
Play an active role in defining vehicle attributes and requirements, and be the voice of customer at a vehicle level
Create and maintain requirements and validation plans for each vehicle program from development through launch
Lead vehicle durability, reliability, abuse, and environmental testing
Lead sizing and acquisition of data acquisition system and instruments including accelerometers, microphones, load cells, thermocouples, etc.
Gather, analyze, and monitor collected test data and acquisition system metrics for field-deployed durability test vehicle data acquisition (DAQ) systems
Lead triage and timely resolution of vehicle issues on test vehicles to ensure maximum test uptime
Manage pre-test, in-test, and post-test test incident and concern documentation, vehicle reviews and inspections
Support test vehicle prep. including ECU reflashes, OTAs, or similar test vehicle repairs
Plan and execute vehicle level dynamic and static test activities per test plans developed in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Work efficiently and in close collaboration with hardware, software, and testing teams.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field
4+ years of experience in a similar role within the Automotive/Motorsport industry
Proficiency in using specialized testing equipment, data acquisition systems, and analysis software including SoMat, Dewesoft, Vector CAN, etc.
Experience with vehicle instrumentation for Road Load Data Acquisition
Experience managing long term lab based and proving grounds based durability and reliability tests
Proving ground and on-road / on-track experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Willingness to travel up to 25%
Preferred Requirements:
M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field
6+ years of experience in similar role within Automotive/Motorsport industry
Experience developing and validating off-road vehicles
