Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst

Summary
Our partner is looking for a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible leading and coordinating all aspects related to payroll taxes which includes partnering with internal tax department and unemployment tax vendor.
Job Functions
Coordinate all payroll tax processing including tax reconciliations, quarterly/year-end tax calculations, expat tax reporting, W2 processing, executive tax support, tax coding in production, updates to union rules and liaise with external tax departments as necessary.
Assist in the development and implementation of payroll tax policies and procedures. Provide training and support to payroll staff on tax-related matters.
Manages tax tracers with tax filing for multi-state payrolls. Research and resolve tax issues and ensure payroll tax payments are following applicable federal, state and local tax laws.
Manage the relationship with third-party provider for tax reporting to ensure timely and accurate tax deposits and tax filings for all jurisdictions where organization has withholding tax obligations.
Ensure we are processing payroll taxes in compliance with all tax rules related to payroll payments as well as noncash and cash fringe benefits. This includes taxing and reporting of regular pay, bonus pay, car usage, plane usage, etc. Collectively collaborates with team to proactively monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely tax filing & reporting to government authorities.
General ledger processing related to payroll accounting, including month-end closing, journal entries, and reconciliation. Collaborate with the Finance Team on deadlines and delivery.
Responsible for creating reports, insights and analytic, and analyzing complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight for auditing, trends, and decision-makers; identifying and interpreting trends and patterns in datasets.
Research and maintain a working knowledge of payroll tax laws and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local tax laws. Provides payroll tax awareness of applicable changes, and provides appropriate recommendations. Partner with ADP and internal teams to complete correct documentation and applications to enroll for new jurisdictions as the organization adds new entities or moves into new tax jurisdictions.
Support all quarterly and annual tax filings. Including all 941, W2, state withholding, local withholding, 940, and state unemployment filings for all legal entities in the US organization and corrected returns as well as employee adjustments.
Administer acquired company's payroll systems from acquired companies and process quarterly and annual taxes and amendments
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree Required
4-6 years of relevant experience
Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and laws
Proficient in excel
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail an accuracy
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with multi-state and local payroll tax compliance
Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, etc.
