The Application Engineering Manager, Industrial will concentrate on BriskHeat’s (BH) Industrial projects for both the USA and Europe. This role will also act as key contact for BH’s direct sales contacts in Europe for projects outside of Industrial. Key responsibilities are coordinating technical specifications and design requirements between the customer and BH’s sales, engineering, and manufacturing departments, among other responsibilities. This position can involve occasionally travelling to various locations to meet with customers and distributors. This position will also be responsible for review and enactment of various process documentation and process review initiatives. This position is onsite in Columbus, Ohio. Applicants will be considered for this position who live in the United States and Ohio only.
Primary Duties
· Primary focus on overseeing US-Industrial and European based projects and disseminating those projects and related responsibilities to necessary individuals.
· Provide support to sales to help identify, cultivate, and close new quotations and project bids for both existing customers as well as new customers.
· Engage in sales/technical presentations to prospective or existing customers to highlight BH’s capabilities and product lines.
· Help BriskHeat determine new products, materials and other items that customers show a strong interest in by communicating these interests to all departments.
· Act as a point of technical contact or sales contact, as directed, during the product development phase for new and ongoing projects for major customers and prospects.
· Coordinate quotes, technical information, dimensions and other parameters with customers, engineering, manufacturing and other members of the sales team.
· Oversee the coordination and transfer of new orders between sales, engineering, the customer and manufacturing to ensure accurate design and compliance with customer specifications. This includes ensuring the accuracy of temperature parameters, dimensional fit, shipping and labeling, quality assurances, etc.
· Oversee the documentation and receipt of approval of the customer specifications for projects and assist in the preparation of quotes and proposals.
· Review approval drawings from engineering, send them promptly to the customer and help ensure they return and are finalized promptly via the requested shipment expectations.
· Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and the Testing Laboratory to ensure development, design, testing requirements, on time delivery and other customer and BriskHeat expectations of first article products, prototypes and all other shipments related to projects assigned, as necessary.
· Coordinate engineering changes with the customer and various BriskHeat departments to ensure customer satisfaction and meeting the BriskHeat procedural guidelines for these changes.
· Management of the industrial group which includes yearly review, periodic performance reviews, hiring and training.
· Drive process improvements within Application Engineering related to, but not limited to:
a. Review and develop new standards of documentation for training or processes.
b. Implement, review and revise new-employee training.
c. Review and develop new tools for quoting products outside of BHX, as needed.
d. Other process improvements and tools as identified by engineering management.
e. Benchmark and quantify improvements achieved via above mentioned implementations.
Skills Requiring Certification

Education & Basic Skills Required
· Bachelor’s degree in science or construction related field.
· 4-6 years’ experience in managing a team of 2-6 individuals, particularly in an engineering environment.
· High degree of understanding of business, engineering and quality processes and continuous improvement initiatives and methods.
· Experience related to electrical heating products and temperature controllers is a plus.
· Must be a self-starter and can be effective with little or no supervision.
· Experience with measurement tools and small hand/power tools.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics.
· Strong ability to utilize Word, Excel, and other PC tools.
· Familiarity with quality and technical testing tools such as digital multimeters, temperature measuring devices, etc.
· Excellent and demonstrable verbal and written communications in English.
· Comfort with working directly with a variety of customers and industries.
· Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 50 pounds, climbing narrow stairs/ladders or working in tight spaces during some technical work such as measuring gas piping systems and other customer structures.
