BAE Systems is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated junior/mid-level engineer to join our NATO Seasparrow Project Office (NSPO) team in Arlington, VA. This exciting international program includes 12 member nations, including the US. The selected candidate will provide engineering, and programmatic support with a focus on ESSM Test Equipment. The successful candidate will assist in the management of production and in-service support equipment for the Evolved SEASPARROW Missile (ESSM) program, coordinating with various stakeholders including Intermediate Level Maintenance Facility (ILMF) representatives and NSPO Consortium navies. The role requires strong technical, organizational, and communication skills to effectively support test equipment and engineering management functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide engineering and programmatic support to the ESSM Test Equipment Manager for production and in service ESSM test equipment.
Provide technical expertise to the Government field activities, commercial laboratories and contractors on missile test sets and provide recommendations to stakeholders of the NATO SEASPARROW Consortium on missile test activities. Apply technical expertise and provide recommendations to the NSPO on missile test set acquisitions, and status.
Assist in resolving issues related to ESSM support equipment and test sets, coordinating with various stakeholders, including the design agent, ILMF representatives, consortium partner representatives and US Navy field activities, to maintain functionality and management.
Prepare and deliver briefings to senior project and support personnel, providing updates on test equipment acquisition and maintenance. Participate in international meetings and program reviews, providing briefings and budget analyses as required.
Evaluate Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for impact on production and in service ESSM Test Equipment, initiating analyses and recommending solutions to mitigate adverse effects.
Assist in defining test methodology and qualification criteria for engineering changes and system evaluations. Participate in the certification processes for ESSM test equipment utilized by NSPO Industrial Partners and Consortium Navies.
Provide support throughout the contracting process, from bid to contract negotiation. Contribute to the development of Statements of Work (SOW), specifications, test plans, and acceptance criteria, and participate in Program Reviews. Monitor prime contractor performance and provide assistance to Contracting Officers in the review, audit, and evaluation of submitted proposals
Act as a liaison with international partners to monitor facility construction and ensure adherence to project specifications. Manage test equipment upgrade and procurement efforts for Consortium and Third Party Sales (TPS) ILMF customers to incorporate software changes and new system level alignment procedures.
Coordinate training for ILMF personnel including but not limited to ESSM missile assembly, missile handling, and encanister / decanister, and system calibration improvements.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field and up to 5 years of related experience.
Knowledge of production support, test equipment management, or a similar role within a defense or aerospace environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work within a team environment.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite software products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in an International team environment.
Ability to travel within Continental US (CONUS) or abroad to support related meetings
Active Secret U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Desirable Qualifications:
Familiarity with ESSM Test Equipment and NATO SEASPARROW Project operations is highly desirable.
Demonstrated Experience with naval program acquisition processes and lifecycle management.
Proficiency in technical documentation and engineering review processes.
Project management skills and experience with budgets and funding.
Must have an active Secret Clearance
