Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of several corporate entities, which include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger Activities/Financial Close process, and Expense Report Management. You will be responsible for month-end closing, financial reporting, audits, and other projects.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and reporting.
Do monthly bank reconciliations and tie them out to monthly G/L for closing.
Support accounting functions including collections, vendor bill management, account reconciliations, commissions, accruals and schedules, and other journal entries.
Support expense management including the accurate booking of accruals and prepaid; support vendor payment process.
Review and monitor sales and inventory; work with related departments to analyze and report inventory, cost of sales, and gross margin.
Prepare detailed analytics and all aspects of the business, including product, channel, and lines of business, in conjunction with Sales and Operations.
Work closely with the accounts receivable function, monitoring cash collections, deductions, and overdue amounts.
Support cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
Support bank covenant calculations and reporting.
Execute special projects as needed.
Support annual and periodic audits and reviews with outside accountants, bank field examiners, and internal staff.
Support sales tax filings.
Foster teamwork; coach staff, including prompt feedback and professional development.
Follow all control procedures and report risk issues to the company.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Proficient with financial and reporting systems including Sage 300.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Attention to detail.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Professional interaction with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible, and high energy is essential.
Excellent analytical and reasoning skills; able to recognize and support the organization's priorities.
Able to establish credibility and be decisive.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.
6+ years of proven and relevant experience that includes major retailers.
Public and private experience is a plus.
