About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist to take ownership of global payroll processes during a critical transition period. This is a contract position with the potential for permanent hire, offering the opportunity to work in a collaborative and evolving environment.
The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of payroll experience, a hands-on approach, and a proactive mindset to help us evaluate and stabilize our current payroll operations, train junior team members, and support a future system migration from UKG to Workday (slated for 2025).
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee global payroll operations, partnering with payroll processors across multiple countries
Coordinate the collection, validation, submission, and auditing of payroll data prior to approval
Identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate and timely payroll
Train and support a junior payroll team member to improve accuracy and independence
Collaborate with HR and accounting to transition payroll responsibilities back to the finance team
Conduct a full review of existing payroll processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, or compliance risks
Serve as an internal resource for payroll best practices and reporting
Participate in upcoming payroll system migration (UKG to Workday)
Maintain compliance with internal policies and legal requirements
Handle sensitive payroll data with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism
Requirements:
5–7 years of end-to-end payroll experience (global payroll experience required)
Strong working knowledge of UKG (UltiPro); exposure to Workday a plus
Proven ability to train, guide, and support junior team members
Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving organization
Must be adaptable, process-driven, and able to take initiative with minimal supervision
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Background check and drug screening required
Must be 100% onsite
