Description:

Take a Look at Your Future with Quintara Biosciences

At Quintara Biosciences, our mission is to empower the life sciences community through advanced DNA technologies—reading, writing, editing, and making DNA with precision and efficiency. We are driven by innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to scientific excellence.

We’re seeking a Lab Technician to join our DNA Sequencing Team, playing a critical hands-on role in our high-throughput sequencing operations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives during non-traditional hours and wants to contribute directly to impactful genomic research and custom sequencing projects.

WORK SCHEDULE

Alternating hours: 3PM-11pm or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Flexibility required: While this role is currently based on the timeline of sequencing service, the schedule may evolve over time to meet changing operational needs. Adaptability is key.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform routine sequencing workflows, including sample preparation, library construction, and loading of sequencing instruments (e.g., Sanger and Nanopore sequencing).

Ensure high-quality data output by carefully following SOPs and troubleshooting minor issues during runs.

Track and document sample metadata, instrument status, and process performance with accuracy and attention to detail.

Prepare reagents, clean and calibrate equipment, and maintain laboratory cleanliness and readiness.

Coordinate with day-shift staff to ensure seamless handoffs and consistent lab operations across shifts.

Support ad hoc projects, process improvements, and inter-departmental collaborations as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, or a related field; 1-3 years of bench experience.

Previous experience in a molecular biology or genomics lab is a plus but not required. Training will be provided for motivated candidates with strong foundational knowledge.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

- Competence & Skills

Basic understanding of DNA sequencing technologies and techniques.

Comfortable working with pipettes, reagents, and biological samples.

Experience with lab documentation and data entry using spreadsheets.

- Professional Attitude

Dependable and proactive, especially in a solo or small-team night shift environment.

Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Willingness to learn and contribute to ongoing process development and innovation.
