The Position:
We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join our talented team in San Diego, CA. This role offers a remote work model. (Must live within commuting distance to Poway, CA office). You will work directly with the CFO and Billing Team as well as interact on a regular basis with the Attorney team!
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in preparing and processing legal invoices for insurance defense matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client billing guidelines, and acting as a point of contact for billing inquiries.
Daily Tasks: Fees and cost requests from team members, review time entries, billing prebills, updating FLCS
Weekly Task: filing invoices, uploading electronic invoices for all clients via various software programs, transferring 9444 entries to correct matters
Monthly Tasks: process pre-bills, employee bills, month end reports, finalizing audit and time batches, prepare reports at the request of leadership team
Quarterly Tasks: sending pre-bill books to storage or scan, run-closing file processing: pull files, print or copy scanned invoices; prepare labels for filing
Annual Tasks: assist auditors with reports
Miscellaneous Tasks: running miscellaneous reports, assisting timekeepers with various requests relating to billing/timekeeping, reviews and/or prepares all billing reports requested
May assist with other clerical, cross-training, or job-related duties as requested
Experience and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s degree preferred
Minimum 1+ years’ business work-related experience
Minimum 1+ years’ experience as an insurance billing specialist, preferably
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, advanced Excel skills preferred, strong general software proficiency
Familiar with accounting software, SurePoint, and insurance defense billing, and guidelines helpful

The anticipated compensation range for this role may be $50,000 and $60,000 annually. The final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including the selected candidate's related requirements such as years of experience, skills, qualifications, education, and industry expertise.
