Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant - Corporate is tasked with reviewing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties. After a 90-day probationary period, there is an opportunity for a hybrid schedule with supervisor approval. Reports To:

The Senior Accountant – Corporate reports to the Corporate Controller at the main office in Columbus, Ohio.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Complete the monthly close process for Woda Cooper Companies, Inc., its subsidiaries, and affiliates. This includes preparing journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations, updating monthly close files, and ensuring sub-ledgers align with corresponding communities/projects.

Compile timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for review by the Corporate Controller.

Assist the Staff Accountant with reviewing accounts and bank reconciliations as needed.

Review actuals versus budgets and perform analysis.

Promptly complete the ancillary billing processes, verify accuracy, and confirm successful upload by the Staff Accountant.

Meet processing and reporting deadlines.

Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.

Prepare documentation for external auditors.

Ensure compliance with GAAP.

Accurately complete special reports and projects as requested.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Previous experience with financial statement creation and analysis

Good problem-solving, analytical, and time-management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and leadership skills.

Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Highly organized and detail oriented.

Working knowledge of GAAP.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

At least 2 years of accounting experience.
