Reporting directly to the CEO, play a pivotal role as hands-on business partner; bring structure and process to Accounting and Finance as part of the business transformation, with initial emphasis on costing, forecasting and reporting.
What You’ll Do
Manage all financial operations: Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition, and Cash Management.
Oversee treasury and financial risk management
Demonstrate precision and vision across all areas to keep the business thriving as new internal processes are constructed and the need for deeper, reliable financial insights rapidly increases.
Build the path to strategic success by coordinating and directing preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions to ensure the Company hits its financial and budget goals.
Deliver clarity on performance metrics with accurate, timely monthly financial statements that empower informed decisions.
Ensure compliance by managing regulatory reporting and local, state, and federal requirements
Support and collaborate with external auditors to streamline year-end audits and tax filings.
Develop, implement and document accounting policies; strengthen internal controls to ensure leadership has complete confidence in both data and process.
Streamline and automate business processes to keep financial operations lean and forward-thinking.
Own cost mastery with sharp oversight of inventory, finished product costing, and inbound supply chain expenses across all product categories.
Uphold quality through ISO 9001 quality system documentation, ensuring Company standards remain top-tier.
Ensure accurate payroll reporting and compliance.
The Profile
10+ years in manufacturing finance and accounting, with broad range of responsibilities; comfortable in a manufacturing environment. This is REQUIRED.
Chemical industry, formulated products, or comparable batch process industry experience very helpful.
B.S. degree - Finance or Accounting preferred
Solid, hands-on experience in Product Costing and Cost Analysis for manufactured goods is the CORE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Experience as a true business partner in a high growth small company environment, leading initiatives that will maximize value creation. Low midmarket Private equity or M&A experience is a strong plus in this context.
ERP experience required, familiarity with Sage 50 an advantage.
Highly skilled in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Able to connect and collaborate across all levels, from shop floor to boardroom.
Analytical and fact-based approach with good financial modeling skills.
Experience with both outsourced and in-house back-office operations.
Proven ability to manage leverage and ensure bank covenant compliance.
Ready to motivate and guide the internal team through change.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement cultures is also a strong plus.
Must be commutable to Rahway, NJ - this is NOT a remote or hybrid job and the culture is very much an in-person, collaborative team environment.
