Location: Sunnyvale CA

Duration: 6 months with Possible extension

Mode of work: Hybrid

We are looking for a Battery Test Engineer to join our dynamic team of innovators working on cutting-edge energy storage technologies. If you have a passion for testing and validating battery systems and enjoy working in a fast-paced engineering environment, we'd love to hear from you

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute test plans and procedures for lithium-ion battery cells, modules, and packs

Operate and maintain battery test equipment including cyclers, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems

Perform performance, safety, and reliability testing under various conditions

Analyze test data and generate detailed reports highlighting performance metrics and anomalies

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, etc.) to ensure test coverage and product validation

Assist in root cause analysis and provide engineering support for issue resolution

Maintain test lab organization, safety protocols, and documentation standards

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

2+ years of experience in battery testing, preferably lithium-ion systems

Hands-on experience with battery testing equipment and data logging tools

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret test data and troubleshoot problems

Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS) and safety protocols

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills:

Experience with high-voltage systems and safety compliance

Knowledge of battery degradation mechanisms and thermal behavior

Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or MATLAB for test automation

Experience in a high-volume manufacturing or R&D environment
