Java Backend Developer (EJB & WebSphere)

Job Title: Java Backend Developer (EJB & WebSphere)

Location: Northern New Jersey (Hybrid/Onsite Preferred)

Duration: Long-Term Contract

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and deploy robust backend solutions using Java and EJB.

Maintain and optimize applications running on IBM WebSphere.

Work closely with system architects, business analysts, and front-end teams to integrate backend services with UI and third-party systems.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed.

Provide documentation and support for deployed services.

Required Skills & Experience:

7+ years of Java backend development experience.

Strong hands-on experience with EJB (Session Beans, MDBs, etc.).

Solid expertise in IBM WebSphere Application Server (v8.5 or higher preferred).

Experience with JDBC, JPA, and relational databases (e.g., DB2, Oracle).

Familiarity with SOAP/RESTful Web Services.

Strong understanding of multithreading, exception handling, and performance tuning.

Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice to Have:

Experience with JMS and message-driven architectures.

Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, etc.

Additional Information:

Local candidates preferred.

Hybrid work schedule with occasional onsite meetings in Northern NJ.
