Our client, a NYC based real estate owner and developer, is looking to hire an Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities

Assist the Tax and Accounting Controller and CFO in overseeing the daily operations of the real estate finance and accounting department.

Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, including account reconciliations and journal entries.

Prepare and review internal financial statements as needed

Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.

Manage the process of investor contributions, ensuring accurate recording and timely acknowledgment.

Handle the calculation, preparation, and distribution of investor distributions.

Maintain detailed records of investor accounts, contributions, and distributions.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable.

Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual property performance reports.

Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.

Provide support for acquisitions, lending and other corporate transactions as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience

Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and financial reporting.

Experience with tax a plus

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with investors and team members.

Proficiency in Yardi a plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Compensation is between $115k-$125k.
